What is a convertible vent on a microwave?

Microwave Vent Type Options

Most microwaves offer venting options for you to select from at the time of installation.

External Venting Solution   

microwave with an external venting system vents to the outside of your home through a duct system.

Convertible Venting Solution

Convertible microwaves: Normally, these microwaves vent externally; however, they can be changed to a recirculating venting system if the right components are installed.  

Recirculating: This means that the microwave vents internally, or back into your kitchen.  This is a good option if your kitchen has no form of outside exhaust available.
